Kalliergó K1 Prototype Built

The K1 Unit was developed and built to be a affordable controlled Containerized farm solution for Africa.

With the US and EU Markets costing in the Range of  $ 50 000 to $ 120 000 excluding delivery to Africa was not a viable solution and also with the amount of electricity used in the US and EU Units ,would not make it a reasonable return on investment or a solution for areas where power cuts happen or where Utility costs are High.

The K1 unit wants to address these issues and have a minimal impact on resources with the advantage of giving maximum return on Investment .

The First K1 Unit was built and was based on a Hydroponic vertical setup.

We Found that a Hydroponic System and design has its own set of challenges and flaws.

We have thus redesigned the K1 unit and in the process of rebuilding the unit to showcase our GeoTowers in a controlled and automated environment  .

We have been developing our own inhouse software solution , to control ,manage and log information about the environment and the overall performance of the K1 Unit 

The Next Generation K1 Prototype  will have the following 

Can Grow up to 5000 Plants in a 12m Shipping container.

Climate, Water and Nutrients  controlled via WIFI with the help of additional sensors and also information displayed remotely and monitored. 

Can Also Incorporate Solar Panels to Run the AC on , and the other Electrical equipment 

Using polycarbonate sheeting and extra reflective material to increase light availability and adding Leds as a additive on overcast days , reduces overall running costs and Capital Expenditure . 

Running Only GeoTowers, Reduces Power, Labor and water 

Less Crop losses have been noted growing in the GeoTowers

Overall growth has been satisfactory with the GeoTowers

Reduced pests have been noted with the Solution

Can be easily run by one person as a part time venture and only requires more hands when harvesting and planting

Can be a cost effective solution for someone with maximum control over their environment and security  

Some Crops can be Harvested Monthly ,Others every Second Month
